The data is in and the numbers are staggering - we all have an invisible burden that we carry, making it difficult to advocate for ourselves and enjoy the abundance that surrounds us. Often, without intervention, we project and inflict the pain we've endured on our loved ones; but we can break the generational cycle.
Share yours or the testimony of a loved one who is unable to tell their story; by creating a compilation of our truths, kids who are enduring adversity can move forward with intentionality and take their first steps towards healing. You can share as little or as much identifying information as you are comfortable with; we only require your age, your PCE & ACE scores, and your checklist of the impacts ACEs have had on you throughout your adulthood.
Together we can ensure the children of the upcoming generations Beta, Gamma, and Delta will be free of adversities inflicted on them by adults who were supposed to be caring for them.
These Childhood Experience Bios are inspired by the tools my teachers used to get through to me. As a child who had survived terror, I found it difficult to relate to adults who haven't experienced anything similar. My elementary school teacher sat me down and use the true stories of people who had endured similar hardships as me during their childhood. The whole truth of their outcomes - the good and the bad - helped me see all the ways I could have stayed a victim my whole life, as well as the best way to win against my assailants - to actually be a whole and happy person despite them.
On that note, I see that my fellow citizens are tired of being at risk and their children's source of food and stability fluctuate despite the abundance that surrounds us. I am rooting for all of us as we team up in our communities and stop asking permission to be free, happy, and safe. Teamwork makes the dream work!
